In Manhattan, you miss out on a great deal if you don't look up. Of course, this is at the risk of colliding with something or someone, but so much beauty is far above eye level... especially when you're my height (5'3" or 160cm).
When I was taking a photo of this door, an older gentleman offered me its historical background. (This was the second person to approach me... who says New Yorkers aren't friendly?)
